  • ABERDEEN, S.D. – Northern State University has earned the 2023-2024 Military-Friendly School designation.

    Institutions earning the Military Friendly? School designation were evaluated using both public data sources and responses from a proprietary survey. More than 1,800 schools participated in the 2023-2024 survey with 665 earning special awards for going above the standard.

  • ABERDEEN, S.D. – The Northern State University Theatre Program will present the original play "The Canonized Club: The Curious Lives & Deaths of the Saints" later this month in the Johnson Fine Arts Center Black Box Theater.

  • ABERDEEN, S.D. – Northern State University announces two one-credit courses this fall, specifically designed for teachers seeking to enhance their knowledge and instructional practices.

  • ABERDEEN, S.D. – Northern State University (Northern) is launching a 2-year degree program in early childhood education to help meet the demand for qualified childcare providers in South Dakota.

    In partnership with the South Dakota Department of Social Services, Northern's Early Childhood Education scholarship will provide full tuition, fees, and book scholarships to five students who start the program this fall.     ABERDEEN, S.D. – Northern State University has been authorized by the South Dakota Board of Regents to start a new nursing program that will address critical workforce needs for the community, region and state.

    Northern plans to develop a Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree program starting in fall 2024, following approval this week by the South Dakota Board of Regents.

    This new program will provide students a pathway to becoming a registered nurse, with career ladder steps along the way.

  • ABERDEEN, S.D. – Registration is now open for the 107th annual Northern State University Gypsy Day Parade, set for Saturday, Oct. 7, 2023. 

    The parade will begin at 9 a.m. in downtown Aberdeen. Entrants will decorate their float based on this year’s theme, “Wolves Go to Vegas.” A panel of judges comprised of Northern and community leaders will present awards in various categories.
