Join Northern State University geography professor Dr. Erin Fouberg and history professor Dr. Steven Usitalo on an 13 night excursion through Vietnam.
We will begin in Hanoi, in the north, where we will explore the city's historical sites. We will spend 2 days (1 night) on a cruise on Halong Bay, which includes visits to beautiful, gliterring caves by boat, as well as panoramic views of one of the most beautiful parts of Vietnam.
From Hanoi, we will travel into the countryside and walk through tumbling terraces and rural villages. We will visit Cuc Phoung National Park and learn about endangered primates.
Our trip includes a flight from Hanoi to Saigon (Ho Chi Minh City) in the south. We will learn more about the VIetnam War there and will visit the Cu Chi Tunnels, which were used by the Viet Cong to evade detection and move supplies during the war. From Saigon, we will also explore the Mekong River and take a journey on the river to appreciate the pulse of life.
Our trip concludes with 2 nights and free time in a beautiful hotel on Mui Ne beach, one of the top 10 beaches in the world.
Explore Vietnam with the support of two Northern faculty and private English-speaking guides throughout the trip. Entrance to all stops on the itinerary are included. Price includes all transfers, including one-way flights between Hanoi and Saigon, and private transportation by coach or vans in country. All breakfasts and several lunches and dinners included. Travel insurance is included.
Northern State University's History and Geography of Vietnam is open to current students, alumni, and community members.
